The
U-14 boys and Coach Messick who finished 2nd in Region cup. The boys advanced
to the final by beating First Coast 1-0 a team they had not beat in several
tries. Due to injuries and Spring break the team went to the tournament
with 12 players. They battled in the semi-final match and to make matters
worse lost our GK due to knee injury. Heading to the final we were down
to 11 players and no GK. The boys played amazing leading the #6 team
in the state 1-0 for most of the half. FC America scored a penalty kick
to tie the game with about 3 minutes left in first half. In the second
half FC America proved to be too much and fatigue set it. FC America
went on to be Presidents cup champions so the loss shows that we were
one of the best in the state. see

We have been breaking
records all year at GSA!
by
Alan Womack, General
Manager
Gainesville Soccer Alliance
We
have more travel teams than ever before, our Academy had the most players
in it's history last fall, and Jonesville Park hosted more games and
tournaments than in the history of our beautiful complex!
This month has been
simply incredible! The Academy numbers for the spring are at 315 and
counting! We also hosted three very successful major events in February
(Region Cup Knockout Round, Region Cup Challenge Round and the Gator
Soccer Showcase). These tournaments brought in over 180 teams, more than
2,800 players, close to 15,000 people...and tremendous accolades through
out the soccer community for the Club!
Thank you to all who came out and volunteered your time to help make everything
such a success!
Without the funds
we raise through our events and advertising, the fees we charge our parents
would be considerably higher.
Congratulations to all of our GSA staff for such a successful year so
far! Keep up the great work!
BOARD MEETINGS
will be the second Thursday
of each month, 6:00pm.
