GSA stands as the Home for Soccer Excellence in Gainesville! With Competitive Director Kerri Hanks Petersen back for her second year and Jonesville Soccer Park launching a two-million dollar refurbishing project, the promise of even greater achievements at GSA is crystal clear!
Here are just some of the reasons why you should choose GSA’s Competitive Program:
- Kerri Hanks Petersen is the most decorated player and coach in the area! As a two-time collegiate National Player of the Year and four-time All-American at Notre Dame and member of the US National Team, Kerri has competed at the highest levels in the game. As a coach at Texas Christian University, Sting Soccer Club in Dallas, United Soccer Alliance, and recently the head coach of the 2007 National Olympic Development Team, Kerri has coached at the highest levels, as well!
- Kerri has big plans in place for large-scale improvements for our Competitive Program next year! Some of these improvements include enhancing player development through the implementation of structured coaching programs designed to develop fundamental skills and tactical understanding, strengthening coaching and staff development through continuing education, enhancing community engagement through our schools, enriching competition and exposure opportunities, and the development of a new U9-U12 Competitive Development Program!
- GSA is partnering with a new operations and management platform for the 2024-2025 season! PlayMetrics will enhance the user experience for all of our players, parents, and staff!
- GSA has more teams than ALL of the other competitive programs in the area combined!
- Jonesville Park’s new 2-million dollar refurbishing project will begin early this summer, with plans to re-sod all six fields, while building a stadium field boasting stadium seating, press box, PA system, scoreboard, and more!
- GSA teams get a full slate of HOME league games every fall and spring!
