The land for Jonesville Soccer Park was donated by the University of Florida to the Alachua County Parks Department. There were plans to create a much-needed soccer complex, but the land sat unused due to a lack of funding.

In 2005 the Gainesville Soccer Alliance changed the soccer landscape in Gainesville forever. The non-profit soccer club took out loans in excess of $600,000 to develop a six-field complex for its members and the community at large. A loan they continue to try and pay off today.

In the 17 years since the loan, GSA and the County have developed a remarkable partnership that has created top-flight soccer programming for local players of all ability levels, while maintaining a very successful multi-sport facility that has hosted games and tournaments in numerous sports. Events such as the Gator Showcase, Gator Classic, and Reindeer Rumble have brought in hundreds of thousands of dollars in tourist revenue.

While GSA teams and leagues get scheduling priority, Jonesville Soccer Park is open for field rental, outside tournaments, as well as general public use.

Any unscheduled fields (that are not closed for repair) are always open for unorganized public use. Please note that this applies to unstructured walk-up use only. Any team training, scrimmages, games, or get-togethers must be scheduled and paid for.
